Bitcoin (BTC) rejected at $80,000, Ripple’s XRP plunges sharply as rally cools: market watch

Bitcoin’s rally that began a week ago culminated yesterday with a surge of over $81,000 for the first time since May, when the asset was halted and pushed south a few thousand dollars.

Most larger-cap alternative assets followed a similar trajectory, with XRP falling more than 4%, while ZEC fell more than 7% following the launch of Grayscale’s ETF.

BTC stopped at $81,000

The leading cryptocurrency exploded last Wednesday. It remained below $65,000 for weeks before the bulls took over. At first, they pushed it to $70,000 in a matter of hours. After a brief retracement, BTC soared again and surged to nearly $80,000 on Friday, marking a three-month high.

This means he made over $15,000 in less than 48 hours. As such, a correction was almost inevitable before the bulls could step on the accelerator again. This happened over the weekend, when BTC dropped to $75,000. The next stage began on Monday and peaked on Tuesday.

As reported yesterday, bitcoin rose above $81,000 for the first time in 15 weeks amid these macro factors. However, it was unable to continue climbing and fell approximately $3,000 from this local high.

Nonetheless, it remains up over 22% on a weekly scale, while its market dominance sits slightly below 58% and its market cap stands at $1.575 trillion on CG.

XRP, SOL, DOGE rejected

Ethereum failed again at $2,500 and is now down to $2,450 after a 1.3% daily decline. BNB is below $700 again, while Ripple’s XRP was rejected at $1.50 and is now trading at $1.42 after a significant daily decline of 4.5%. SOL touched $100 yesterday, but is now well below that level.

Even more painful declines come from DOGE (-5%), ADA (-5%), XLM (-5%), and CC (-6%). ZEC has fallen the most compared to larger-cap alternatives despite the launch of Grayscale’s ETF, and now sits below $790.

In contrast, RAIN has climbed over 20% and is now trading above $0.0175.

The total crypto market capitalization decreased by around $60 billion in a day and fell to $2.740 trillion on CG.
