A new rating system for crypto tokens is live on DefiLlama, built with Forgd on around 40 rating entries.
Today, DefiLlama went live with Universal Token Ratingsa continually updated scoring system built with the Forgd token launch advisory platform that reduces each token to a unique score from 0 to 100 and a letter grade from AAA to CCC. More than 100 tokens are evaluated so far.
What’s the scoop?
- The calculation: Each token gets two separate scores from 0 to 10: disclosure (team and leadership, tokenomics, acquisition, legal and treasury structure, service provider commitments) and performance (liquidity depth, spreads, volume, FX hedging, derivatives terms, market maker buy-in). The final score comes from their multiplication rather than the average. A project cannot mask weak market performance with clear information, nor can it compensate for a lack of transparency.
- Who built it: DefiLlama partnered with Forgd, a platform that helps projects design tokenomics, monitor market makers, and manage exchange lists around a token launch, to provide the approximately 40 entries powering each score. DefiLlama says ratings are continuously updated as on-chain events, unlocks, new listings, and market maker mandate changes occur.
- First ranking: Uniswap opened at the top with a AAA rating, the only one on the board so far; Meteora, Curve DAO and others followed at AA. On the other hand, some of the lowest CCC scores at the time of writing included Collector Crypt, Olympus, and PancakeSwap.
