Bitcoin is still trying to recover from the crash at the end of the previous business week, and the latest rally stopped at $84,000.
However, most altcoins are in the green, with ETH surging above $2,550, while XRP has rebounded to over $1.40. ZEC is up 7%, while HYPE is targeting $90 again.
BTC eyes $84,000
The leading cryptocurrency attempted to break down the coveted $87,000 at the start of the previous business week, but it was stopped in its tracks and quickly fell back to just under $85,000. It bounced back towards its initial target, but this time it posted a lower high and was rejected at $86,600. The bears intensified at this point, and the next descent was much more violent.
The $85,000 support failed to hold BTC and the asset dropped to $83,500. After another unsuccessful recovery attempt, he dived again; this time, the cryptocurrency fell to $80,400 for the first time in over two weeks.
After losing nearly $7,000 in just a few days, bitcoin was poised for a deeper rebound. It rose to $83,500 on Friday, where it stagnated again. It spent the weekend trading around $83,000 before climbing to over $84,000 earlier in the day, despite escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Sellers have stepped in once again and the cryptocurrency is now trading a few centimeters below this level. Its market cap recovered slightly to $1.68 trillion on CMC, while its dominance on alts fell to 59.35%.

Alts back in green
Despite substantial net outflows from Ethereum spot ETFs last week, the price of the underlying asset has risen more than 2% daily and sits above $2,550. Ripple’s native token has surpassed the key $1.40 level, which it has been fighting against for days. SOL, DOGE, LINK, HYPE, TRX, BNB, XMR and ADA are also in the green.
ZEC regained the $1,300 level after a 6.3% increase. NEAR continues its spectacular rise, with another double-digit rise to $5.80. ICP, FIL, ZRO, ALGO and VVV complete the club of double-digit prize winners.
The cumulative market cap of all crypto assets increased by 1% to $2.830 trillion on CMC.
