Chainlink has reached a new high in 2026 after a strong rally over the past month. The 12th largest crypto asset by market capitalization saw another 12% rally on Tuesday and surpassed $15.
But some small LINK holders appear to be selling.
Signs of profit taking
Saint revealed that the number of non-empty wallets fell to 912,020, suggesting that some small holders could profit as the tokens recover. This does not necessarily mean that investors are becoming bearish on LINK. Some small traders might simply sell after going through the rally, while other holders continue to add to their positions. The number of holders is still near its highest levels this year.
There is also a lot more going on around Chainlink beyond price action. For example, CCIP 2.0 went live this week, making enhanced cross-chain infrastructure available to institutions and digital asset issuers. The update focuses on security, compliance and faster cross-chain transactions as financial companies move more assets on-chain. Chainlink said CCIP has secured over $84 billion in cross-chain token value and over $15 billion has migrated to the network over the past four months.
The platform is integrated by companies such as BitGo, Fidelity International, Deutsche Börse’s Crypto Finance and SBI Digital Markets. LINK is also increasingly used in traditional finance. Coinbase selected Chainlink for Oracle infrastructure for its tokenized stocks, while Wyoming uses the network for its FRNT stablecoin.
Analysts eye higher levels
Despite modest profit-taking, LINK remains up nearly 35% over the past month. Michaël van de Poppe expects older cryptocurrencies such as LINK to perform better in the current market cycle than in the previous cycle, as he highlighted the continued development and growth of its ecosystem as important factors.
Whale Factor indicated $17.30, $20, $23, and $28 as the next key levels for LINK based on Fibonacci extensions. The $20 mark is the next major level to watch, and breaking above this level could potentially put the focus on higher targets.
Crypto analyst ChartNerd shared an even bolder price outlook for LINK, predicting that the token could eventually reach $100.
