• Hunter goes on chain: Biden confirmed the launch Monday after the Wall Street Journal announced the news. $LAPTOP has a fixed supply of 1 billion, with founders including Biden receiving 30%, 20% earmarked for airdrops, 30% for its prediction mechanism, 10% for liquidity, and 5% each for treasury and charity. Around 35% unlocked at launch.
• Airdrops and forecasts: Of the 10% of the first day’s airdrop, 2% is reserved for users who lost money trading $TRUMP, while 8% goes to subscribers of “Where’s Hunter?” Substack. An additional 30% of the supply is tied to real-world predictions, with tokens burned if specified outcomes occur and potentially donated to charity.
• Crypto is not amused: The announcement sparked strong reactions on Crypto Twitter, including criticism of Kraken after he promoted the token. Despite launching on Base, neither Base nor Coinbase have approved the project. Jesse Pollak said Base refused to help him with its design or amplification, pointing out that Base was without permission.
