The price of Bitcoin increased slightly on Sunday morning, surpassing $85,000 after the high volatility experienced on Friday following the release of the US employment report.
Most larger-cap alternative assets are also slightly in the green over the past day, with ETH challenging $2,700 resistance, while XRP hits $1.50.
BTC to recover $85,000
Bitcoin’s previous business week began with a decline that took it from the upper limit of its trading range at $85,000 to just below the lower limit at $82,500. The following days were hectic before the PCE data was released on Wednesday. As it was lower than expected, BTC soared to $85,600 within minutes. However, the subsequent movement was just as rapid, but downward.
Thursday was quieter, with BTC trading between $82,500 and $84,000. It started climbing again on Friday and was boosted by the U.S. jobs report, which was much weaker than expected. The initial move was quite optimistic, as bitcoin rose above $87,000 for the first time in about ten days.
However, somewhat surprisingly, it crashed almost immediately and fell to below $84,000 within hours. The bulls finally intervened at this point and helped BTC recover to $84,000 on Saturday. It rose slightly to over $85,000 on Sunday.
Its market cap surged to $1.71 trillion on CMC, while its alt dominance remains stable at 59%.

PUMP Pumps
Ethereum returned to $2,700 today after a slight increase from yesterday. XRP targets $1.50 after 1.1% jump BNB approaches $800 after a more impressive 2.9% increase. Most other larger-cap alternative stocks were up about 1-2%. HYPE is up 3% and sitting above $90.
CRO, NEAR, and TAO gained up to 4.5%, while RAIN and PUMP are the two best performers in this cohort of alts. The former gained almost 14%, while the latter rose 16% to $0.0063. ZRO and AERO follow suit in terms of daily earnings.
The total crypto market cap has increased by approximately $30 billion per day and now stands at $2.910 trillion on CMC.
